Hi there! Welcome to the Charleston blog, a journal about our lives, travels, fashion, and style. Stay a while and say hello!

Hi, I'm Rose.

Waiting for Baby Z

Mar 11, 2017

There are few moments more filled with anticipation than those last weeks before a baby arrives. A few weeks ago on an unseasonably warm and beautiful February Sunday, I had the joy of meeting the Z family at Greenwell State Park for a family maternity session.

How beautiful is this family?! We had such a wonderful time exploring the grounds of the park and taking in the views. My job as a photographer becomes so easy when a family lets me in – when they feel free to just be themselves – and that’s just what happened during this session!

This took zero prompting - the kids just hopped up there and grinned in unison.

One of my favorite images from the session was this candid shot below. The parents and I were chatting and the kids ran a bit ahead, when suddenly sister and brother threw their arms around one another and turned back to smile at their parents. It was such a lovely, genuine family moment that I’m so glad to have captured.

And of course, what would a family maternity session be without a kissing-the-belly photo?!
