December Newborn Session Recaps

I am so behind on blogging, but it’s for a good reason, I promise! My team is in the final stages of designing my brand new website, and since my blog will basically have to start over when it launches, I’ve been dragging my feet on posting.

But seriously, the images from December are just too good not to share!

It was another month of transition and growth here at AWP. We introduced Leigh to the team, who will be assisting me during newborn sessions so that parents can totally relax and enjoy the session.

Guys – Leigh is a TOTAL baby whisperer and the perfect fit to the studio! I’m so thrilled to be able to offer this benefit to my clients, and since Leigh is trained to keep her hands and eyes on baby at all times, I can focus more of my brain on the technicalities of the job.

First up was baby Margot! I photographed Steph and Lane’s maternity session back in September, and before we knew it, Margot was here. Originally due in November, she took her sweet time and decided to become a December baby! Worth the wait, wouldn’t you say?

Gahhhh, dads and babies totally melt my heart.

Next, baby Eleanor came to visit me! Her daddy owns a race car, so naturally we had to incorporate that. The studio is stocked to the brim with everything we need to style a newborn session, but I love it when parents bring little personal touches to the session. It forces me to think outside the box and get creative – check out the end result!

Next were my first set of twins, Taylor and Timothy. They are identical twin boys, and needless to say, I *might* have been nervous about mixing them up. But as luck would have it, there ended up being a pretty easy way to tell these sweet dudes apart – Timothy has two thumbs on one of his hands! What a beautiful feature to be blessed to capture. I will never forget this little guy!

Last but not least, we got to meet baby Isabel. She is the first child for two very good friends of mine, and there’s nothing like getting to see your friends become parents. Welcome to the dark side, suckers! (Kidding, kind of.) Isabel is absolutely perfect and the family images from this session are *everything* to me. Baby was wide awake and totally enamored with the camera. I may have found myself a new model!
