Baby Camden | Maryland Newborn Photographer

I’m trying to be better about blogging every single session in 2019, even if it means it goes up a month late – like this one! This year is off to an amazing start for us and I couldn’t be more thankful. If the rest of 2019 is anything like January has been, we’re in for an amazing year!

Baby Camden was our first newborn session of the year. I’ve been following his mama, Wendy, on social media for awhile now, so I knew exactly what color tones and textures to bring into the session for her! I love getting to bond with my clients long before I photograph them. It makes the whole process so much easier and more personal, for me and for them!

For Camden’s newborn portraits, I knew I wanted lots of light neutrals with organic textures and greenery. We opted for an ivory flokati for sibling photos, white and sage wraps and fabrics, and a caramel colored backdrop for family portraits. I even grabbed a few sprigs of greenery right off the wreath on my front door for a wintery, organic feel!

My favorite part of the session was just getting to know Wendy and to give her a little break while we photographed Camden. It takes a village to raise a baby, and we’re so happy to be a part of yours! Thank you so much for trusting me to create these for you, Bentley family! Looking forward to seeing you again soon!

The light shimmers across the water, the horizon stretches open, and every angle offers a new composition. Portraits […]

Many photographers talk about posing guides: where to place hands, how to stand, how to angle the body. And while posing is important, it’s not the only thing that makes a portrait feel alive. Understanding the key difference that could make or break your portraits, the distinction between posing and art direction, is something many […]
