The Lauver Family | An Old Town Alexandria Portrait Session
Spoiler alert: there’s a SUPER cute dog in this gallery!!! I’ve had the sweetest pups join our family sessions lately, and this one was no exception! Lola belongs to the Lauver family, who I had the pleasure of meeting Friday night in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. Old Town is one of my favorite places to photograph because it’s just so darn beautiful, in any season!
We made our way to my favorite cobblestone alley to create their first portraits as a family of four. That’s right, Lola isn’t the only baby in the family anymore! She’s now the proud big sister to an adorable little guy named Joshua. He’s at that perfect age where he’s got tons of personality, but isn’t quite mobile. This is my favorite age to document! Just look at those cheeks!
I had so much fun getting to know this family and exploring Alexandria together. My favorite moment was when we were walking from the cobblestone alley back towards waterfront park. We were on one of the most historic, picturesque cobblestone streets, when we came across an adorable townhouse fully spooked out for Halloween – complete with MASSIVE, realistic looking spiders crawling all over the house! If you know me, you know that I am TERRIFIED of spiders. I could hardly stand to look at it, and right as we walked by, the owner walked outside with ANOTHER giant spider to hang up! I couldn’t stop laughing. As if there weren’t enough already!
We made it safely past the spiders and back down to the waterfront just as the sun was setting. Perfect timing! Joshua loved watching the ducks swim around, and we were able to sneak in a few extra portraits with the river and foliage views. Please enjoy a few of my favorites from their session!
