Branding Shoot with Days of May Florals

Earlier this week I had met with Michaela from Days of May Florals and make some magic right in her sunroom! I’ve been a fan of her work for years, and it turns out she lives right across the street from my grandparents’ house in Solomons. Southern Maryland is a small town, am I right?!

After a busy fall and holiday season, a fun, no-pressure shoot with a new friend was just what I needed. Florals are always one of my favorite details to photograph on a wedding day, so this was a perfect opportunity to watch an artist in action and learn more about Michaela’s craft.

Friends, I cannot stress this enough: you aren’t paying a florist for the physical stems, but for the artistry of what can be done with them. Michaela created these arrangements from a grocery store bouquet and leaves she foraged from her own yard. I am honestly in awe of her talent!

We spent the afternoon sipping wine, creating new branding portraits, and scheming up some ideas for the spring and beyond. I’m so thankful to have vendor friends right here in southern Maryland! Also, can we talk about Michaela’s amazing curls?! Love love love these images!

One thing is certain, […]

When you have clients that love and appreciate art as much as Isabella and Jory, you find a way to showcase that love in photos. For them, that meant a National Gallery of Art engagement session. It turned out more perfect than I could have imagined. Including personal items or highlighting shared interests is something […]

When you think of wedding photography, your mind probably goes straight to the romantic wedding portraits, like the epic first kiss at the ceremony, or the newlywed’s first dance. While these wedding day moments are essential and some of my favorites to capture, there are other photos that are just as important but often overlooked […]
