An Autumn Southern Maryland Engagement Session

Carlee & David

What a ROLLERCOASTER these two have been on! Like so many 2020 couples, Carlee and David’s wedding plans have changed so many times over the past several months. Even their original engagement session date got moved due to rain! We finally got a chance to meet at Jefferson Patterson Park last weekend, and it was such a good time. Perfect weather, leaves just beginning to turn – everything I love about fall in southern Maryland!

What I loved most about Carlee and David is how laid-back and joyful they both are. Within minutes of meeting, we felt like old friends. You can tell how much fun they have together and must keep each other laughing 24/7, which is totally a must when you’re wedding planning during a pandemic!

They made my job SO easy, too. Jefferson Patterson Park is definitely my most-requested location, and I was itching to try a few new locations around the park. Carlee and David were both like, “we’ll go wherever you tell us Amanda, we trust you completely!” Music to my ears – and I’d say it paid off!

Before I show you a few favorites, I have to share how Carlee and David found me to begin with. It turns out that Carlee’s brother was a groomsmen in a wedding I photographed last year. When it came time for Carlee and David to choose a wedding photographer, her brother recommended me!

Honestly, an endorsement from a groomsmen is the HIGHEST compliment I could possibly ask for. My entire goal and purpose is to create beautiful photographs in a way that’s fun for you and your wedding party, without taking up too much time or sacrificing cocktail hour. I’m so glad that I succeeded there and cannot wait to do it again at Carlee and David’s wedding in just a few weeks!

Okay, NOW you can scroll through a few favorites…but be warned, there are a ton of them! Congrats you two, see you again in November!

Welcome to the world, Bonnie! I’m so excited to share this sweet girl’s newborn session at home in Washington DC today! I photographed Lindsey and Andrew’s maternity session earlier this spring at Washington National Cathedral. Luckily we fit in their maternity session when we did, because Bonnie was born just 48 hours afterwards. Now I’ve […]

Congratulations, Caitlyn and Austin! I first met Caitlyn and Austin almost two years ago, when the two vacationed in southern Maryland and hired me to take their engagement photos in Solomons. Needless to say, I was thrilled when they asked me to travel to Pennsylvania to photograph their wedding as well! They planned a beautiful […]
