A Baltimore Springtime Wedding at the Belvedere Hotel

Alaina & Jamie

The 2022 wedding season is officially underway! Alaina and Jamie’s March wedding at the historic Belvedere Hotel was the perfect way to kick off a new year. Baltimore was cold and windy on their wedding day, with the perfect amount of overcast skies. Best of all, by some miracle, Baltimore’s magnolia trees survived the late winter snowstorm and were blooming beautifully!

Our day began at the Belvedere, where the girls were getting ready and the reception space was being transformed. Alaina and Jamie’s celebration was filled with personal touches, but one of my favorites was the fact that Alaina’s dad made their cake! Their family owns Woodlea Bakery in Baltimore, and her dad was personally on site to put on the finishing touches. The sight of him carefully finishing the cake in his tux was one of my favorite moments!

The ceremony took place at St. Casimir Church, and then it was time for portraits downtown. We stopped at Mount Vernon Place to take advantage of the magnolia blooms with the whole wedding party, and they were absolute CHAMPS in the cold! We worked quickly to make some magic and then we headed back to the Belvedere to celebrate.

The reception was one to remember! Friends toasted the couple, the parents got to dance with their children, and Dan Goldman Events kept the dance floor packed all night. Just before the night ended, we sneaked out one last time for some epic portraits at the venue. These are some of my favorites from the entire day, so be sure you make it all the way to the bottom of this post to see them!

Congrats, Alaina and Jamie!

I’ve honestly lost track of how many times I’ve photographed this family now, and each time truly gets better and better! Sticking with one photographer over the years is one of the best things a family can do, because it allows everyone to feel more comfortable and genuinely enjoy the session. One thing is certain, […]

When you have clients that love and appreciate art as much as Isabella and Jory, you find a way to showcase that love in photos. For them, that meant a National Gallery of Art engagement session. It turned out more perfect than I could have imagined. Including personal items or highlighting shared interests is something […]

When you think of wedding photography, your mind probably goes straight to the romantic wedding portraits, like the epic first kiss at the ceremony, or the newlywed’s first dance. While these wedding day moments are essential and some of my favorites to capture, there are other photos that are just as important but often overlooked […]
