Welcome to the world, Baby Wesley! I had the absolute honor of photographing Wesley’s first portrait session after he was born this year. His mother, Jacque, reached out about planning a lifestyle newborn session in their Annapolis home. I have to admit, their session was absolutely incredible and I loved getting a first hand look at some of Jacque’s latest work. Enjoy your peek into their sweet Annapolis lifestyle newborn portraits!

Annapolis Lifestyle Newborn Portraits

Jacque is an incredibly talented artist. She designed and painted Wesley’s nursery herself and even created watercolor paintings and crochested details to round out the nautical theme. It was important for me to document some of those details as well as the special moments between Wesley and his parents. The nursery was stunning and I loved being able to spend time in there with these three (and their pup!). 

Baby Wesley’s entrance into the world was so different from the calm relaxed vibes that their lifestyle photos give off. In fact, his birth was quite traumatic and everyone needed time to recover before we could do photos – which is MORE than okay. As a mom who had a traumatic birth herself, I completely understand on a personal level and I never want my clients to feel they have to rush to get their photos in right away… especially if you need to relax and recover. 

Planning Your Newborn Portraits

If you’re expecting, the best time to book your newborn session is actually while you’re still pregnant. We’ll get you on the calendar and adjust as needed – like we did with Wesley – once baby arrives. Anytime within the first 2-4 weeks after birth is great for your newborn photos and there’s truly no rush to have them as soon as your baby is born. As your Annapolis newborn photographer, I actually have a client wardrobe designed specifically for postpartum moms… so you don’t even have to worry about what to wear when the big day comes! Just enjoy those baby snuggles and relax. I’ve got you covered, mama!
