A Studio Newborn Session in Solomons, Maryland

I’m thrilled to be sharing Ruthie’s sweet studio newborn session in Solomons, Maryland today! Ruthie was about 6 weeks old when we captured her newborn portraits. Generally, we schedule studio newborn portraits when babies are 2-3 weeks old, but sometimes life happens and we have to adjust our plans. Fortunately, Ruthie was ready to cooperate and we got everything we needed! She was precious and wide awake for our entire session. It was fun to capture her little expressions during this studio newborn session in Solomons MD!

Classic Studio Newborn Session in Solomons Maryland

We maintained a timeless all-white color palette in order to let Ruthie shine in these portraits. It’s so important to keep things simple with newborns, and it’s best to avoid props and complicated poses. I strive to keep my portraits timeless so that you can treasure them for years to come. Ruthie stretched and pushed through the wraps we had on her, which is something that is super common with older newborns. But she looks precious in all of the portraits we photographed during her studio newborn session in Solomons Maryland! By the end of the session, she had settled down and closed her eyes sleeping a little, which was sweet.

Meaningful Newborn Portraits for Baby Girl

One of the portraits we captured during their newborn session in Solomons Maryland was especially meaningful: the one of Ruthie’s mom holding her. as I was able to also include mom’s tattoo in the image. It says “I love you” in her late father’s handwriting, who sadly passed away a few years ago. This portrait is a beautiful way to commemorate all three generations. I am so thankful Ruthie’s mom mentioned this to me, so that we could create a meaningful moment for her and Ruthie during our studio newborn session in Solomons Maryland.

When to Book a Studio Newborn Session

Studio sessions are a lovely option for families that want to prioritize their baby as the focus of their newborn portraits. Studio newborn sessions focus entirely on the baby, while in-home sessions tend to focus more on the entire family and baby’s environment. These sessions allow us to really focus on the tiny details that (unfortunately) change so fast as babies grow!

As a newborn photographer, I take my time to pose your baby safely in a way that allows them to rest comfortably while I document their tiny toes and fingers. The early days of parenthood go so quickly and it feels like such an honor to  capture this season of life for your family. Knowing that these are portraits that your family will look back on means the world to me. When your kids are big and grown, you’ll always have something to remember how small they once were.

To Ruthie and her mom, thank you for trusting me to photograph your sweet studio newborn session in Solomons Maryland. It was a beautiful time and I am so thrilled with how everything went with this sweet girl! Ruthie’s session is a great reminder that it’s Neve too late to capture the portraits that are special for your family.
