Bold color for wedding days is having a big moment right now. Many couples love the idea of how to incorporate bold color into their wedding, but it can feel overwhelming to dive into designing an event with so much color. I always recommend leaning on your wedding planner to help with creating a cohesive event design. This is truly their area of expertise! How to Incorporate Bold Color Into Your Wedding

Play with Patterns!

A bold design isn’t just about vibrant color! Be sure to embrace print and texture throughout your wedding details. Consider incorporating printed linens, unique floral vessels, and bespoke paper goods into your design. Adding bold colors in these “small” details really adds up when it comes to your wedding colors! It’s such a wonderful way to bring a pop of colors to your wedding photos.

Get the Guests Involved!

Set the tone for a bold, colorful event from the very beginning with your invitation suite. Work with your stationer to select vibrant, colorful papers that will immediately set your event apart. Additionally, you could consider requesting that your guests wear certain colors! I know that some may find this controversial, but if you know that your crowd would love to add to the vibe, why not embrace that and give them some direction to help incorporate bold color into your wedding?

Classic Wedding, Bold Welcome!

Another alternative for how to incorporate bold color into your wedding is to keep your wedding day palette classic and timeless and lean into a bold color design for ancillary events, such as your welcome party or rehearsal dinner. If you want to keep your designs more classic, this is the way to go. You can have a lot of fun with more exciting and bold options for the weekend’s events and keep a timeless look for your main day. I love this pizza party rehearsal dinner designed by SRS Events – such a fun way to incorporate your personalities and interests with a smaller group of your loved ones!

As a photographer, I’ve seen firsthand how bold color choices can transform a wedding weekend into a truly unforgettable experience, not just for the couple, but for every guest and every photo captured. Whether it’s a vibrant floral installation, statement attire, or a daring tablescape, don’t be afraid to lean into what speaks to you. I hope these tips on how to incorporate bold color into your wedding make this fun options feel more realistic!
