Buckle in friends, because this is an EPIC story that I cannot wait to share with you! It all started back in July of this year, when I received an email from Andre about photographing a vow renewal at Running Hare Vineyard. But not just any vow renewal … a SURPRISE vow renewal. Where everyone was in on the secret, except his wife, Jessica!

See, when Andre and Jessica were married ten years ago, it wasn’t exactly the fairytale wedding Jess had hoped for. It was a day where nothing went quite right, there was a torrential downpour, and they didn’t have a photographer, so they didn’t have any tangible memories from the day anyway. It became one of their biggest regrets.

Ten years later, Andre decided it was time to give Jessica the wedding of her dreams. He told Jess that he’d booked an anniversary portrait session for them, so that they could get all dressed up and recreate those wedding portraits they never received all those years ago. What Jess didn’t know was that she wasn’t just getting all prettied up for a portrait session – Andre had invited over fifty of their closest friends and family to witness them renewing their vows!

The day finally arrived without Jess suspecting a thing! When I walked into the bridal suite, my heart was beating out of my chest with anticipation. Nothing can prepare you for a moment quite like what was about to unfold! Andre had arranged for a limo to pick Jess up once she was dressed and drive her, blindfolded, to the ceremony site.

Jess thought she was blindfolded for a special first look moment with Andre. When the blindfold came off and the secret was revealed, she fell to her knees overcome with emotion. It was truly one of the most beautiful and emotional scenes I’ve ever witnessed. Especially in a year like this one, I can only imagine what it felt like to see all of their friends and family gathered to celebrate them.

The surprises weren’t over yet! Once Jessica made her way to the altar, Andre got down on one knee and presented Jess with a beautiful proposal and a new wedding ring to commemorate the occasion. Something tells me she’ll never forget this day!
