A DC Engagement Session at Yards Park

Chelsey & Chris

It’s not often that I get to shoot somewhere new to me these days, so when Chelsey mentioned that she and Chris liked the Washington Nationals and that they were up for exploring a new location, I jumped at the challenge! I’d been intrigued by the architecture of Yards Park despite never having been there before, so that’s exactly where we met on a stunningly gorgeous Friday evening in DC.

It was even more beautiful than I could’ve imagined! The periphery of the park was lined with willow trees (my absolute fave), and on the other side was the iconic white Yards Park bridge. To top it all off, Chelsey and Chris were SO fun to work with! It felt like we were instantly comfortable together. They were killing it from minute one and made my job so easy!

After starting in the park, we made our way over to Nationals Stadium. It turns out, saying these two “like” the Nats is a massive understatement! Chelsey and Chris actually had one of their very first dates at a Nats game, which makes perfect sense because they’ve both been superfans of the team long before becoming an item. I loved getting to hear about those early days of their relationship and watching them reminiscing in a location so special to them!

Chelsey and Chris, thank you so much for trusting me! If these portraits are any indication of what’s to come, I have a feeling the wedding is going to be EPIC! Counting down to your September wedding!

Sticking with one photographer over the years is one of the best things a family can do, because it allows everyone to feel more comfortable and genuinely enjoy the session. One thing is certain, […]

When you have clients that love and appreciate art as much as Isabella and Jory, you find a way to showcase that love in photos. For them, that meant a National Gallery of Art engagement session. It turned out more perfect than I could have imagined. Including personal items or highlighting shared interests is something […]

When you think of wedding photography, your mind probably goes straight to the romantic wedding portraits, like the epic first kiss at the ceremony, or the newlywed’s first dance. While these wedding day moments are essential and some of my favorites to capture, there are other photos that are just as important but often overlooked […]
