A Rural Spring Engagement Session | Leonardtown, Maryland
Kara and I found each other on social media, and as soon as she hopped out of Joey’s truck on the evening of their engagement session, I knew she was my kind of girl! Kara and Joey are super laid back, love on each other constantly, and were just instantly wonderful to be around.
We met at Jubilee Farm in late March. We had just a small window of time to have the session while Joey would be on leave from work, so I was SO nervous watching the unpredictable Maryland forecast leading up to it! Fortunately, the weather cooperated and we got a b-e-a-utiful evening to work with.
Kara and Joey are getting married at Jubilee Farm next year, so we couldn’t have asked for a better location to meet. The venue was absolutely gorgeous – even in March! But nothing compared to the instant, palpable chemistry between these two. It was almost as if they forgot I was there (which is ALWAYS my goal!).
This session was so special, because we weren’t just celebrating their engagement – it was a rare moment in which these two would be together while Joey has home from work. Our time together was a brief moment for these two to slip away from the world and enjoy some one-on-one time with each other, and I’m so happy to have captured that for them.
Oh, and there was some other news to – Kara and Joey are expecting a BABY! I couldn’t believe it when Kara surprised me with the news, and of course we had to get a few announcement images. Kara has two little boys already, and I’m so excited to see these two continue adding to their family!
The emotion in these images – ahhhhh. So many of my clients are active duty, and it’s always my hope that the images we create together sustain them while they’re worlds away from each other.
Kara and Joey, thank you so much for allowing me to capture these images for you. I can’t wait to watch you two tackle life, parenthood, and marriage together!
