Living near a major Naval base in southern Maryland means much of my clientele is active duty military. It’s such an honor to serve them, especially knowing how important these photographs while they’re separated from one another. It totally warms my heart when a dad is home on leave for just a few days, yet agrees – and wants! – to come in for a portrait session!
That’s exactly what happened with the Miller family. Work unexpectedly took dad, Rob, out of town just one week after baby Harbor was born and before her newborn session with me. We knew how important it’d be to get those family images, so we photographed Harbor on one day and the family images on a weekend, when Rob had a few days off.
First, I gotta say that Harbor was a photographer’s dream. Her name conjures up feelings of peace and tranquillity, and that’s exactly what we got! She barely made a peep during her session. I was a little nervous about waiting a few days to get those family portraits, especially with the pressure on to create something really beautiful for this special family.
The family session came a few days later, and I’m pretty sure Leigh and I were both fighting back tears watching Lyndsey, Rob, and Harbor together. Once again, baby Harbor was an absolute doll for us, and we were able to make some magic with her daddy’s uniform.
Thank you SO much for trusting me to create these portraits for you, Miller family! I hope to see you three again soon!
