Summer is coming to a close and we’ve got a week of rainy days ahead, so here’s some gorgeous golden sunshine! My assistant, Leigh, and I met Amanda and Patrick for their engagement session and it was so good for my soul. We met at Jefferson Patterson Park in southern Maryland, where they’ll be married next August. It was basically just us at the park! We had a blast scoping out their venue and standing in the spot where they’ll promise forever to each other.
Amanda was dreaming of romantic portraits with deep beautiful greens and flowing fabrics, and I’d say we nailed it! The muted blue tones contrasted perfectly against the greens surrounding us. My favorite part though, was seeing how well Amanda and Patrick complement each other. She’s bubbly and outgoing, he’s more subdued and just clearly adores his wife-to-be.
I’m so glad that Leigh was able to join us too, so that she’s another familiar face on the big day! I want my clients’ wedding day to feel like old friends reuniting, and engagement sessions like this are a huge part of that. Amanda and Patrick’s wedding day is going to be a BREEZE because of the time we put in here!
As the light faded and we walked back to our cars, Amanda hugged me and said excitedly that she knew these were going to be the best engagement photographs she’d ever seen. Y’ALL. She hadn’t seen a single photo yet, no back of camera sneak peeks, nothing. She just had that much confidence in us, and that seriously means THE WORLD to me. There’s nothing more that a photographer could ask for than having the trust of sweet clients like them!
Congratulations, you two lovebirds! We are counting down until next August!!!
