A Lifestyle Sitter Session

Lifestyle sessions for babies are totally stealing my heart lately, and Emma’s sitter session was no exception! Especially for my military families that may find themselves moving every few years, there’s something so special about documenting baby’s environment. And a nursery like Emma’s NEEDS to be captured! Emma’s mama, Kate, is a huge Lilly Pulitzer fan, just like me. When I entered the nursery and saw the colorful prints and girly details everywhere, I just about died!

Lilly girls just get each other. It’s like when two motorcyclists meet. But instead of that super macho one-finger wave, there’s compliments, squeals of excitement, and chatter about favorite releases. I have a feeling our husbands would commiserate with one another, too!

After I left, Kate shared these words about the session: “Amanda, you have captured my heart. You entered our windstorm on a wild Wednesday this week. I had overcommitted, I was overstretched, and I was running on fumes. God so knew I needed you there. You calmed the storm, you lit up Emmy’s world, and you captured her nursery, her spirit, and our love in a way I could never dreamed of. Your gift is your photographs. They tell stories. I’ll cherish this series forever.”

I share this not to boast, but because her words brought tears of humility to my eyes when I read them. My calling is to love and serve others, to bring joy, and to help us all see how beautiful the world really is. The camera is simply the medium that allows me to do it.

When I started this business, I never imagined that it’d turn into something that brought me closer to God. Somehow, that’s exactly what’s happened. It’s so much bigger than just taking pictures and delivering galleries. My clients trust me enough to let me into their most sacred moments and spaces. We become friends. We support and encourage one another, and I am so thankful to have been given this gift.

Please enjoy just a few favorites from Emma’s session. She’s a total sweetheart!
