The Stevens Family | A Generational Portrait Session

A Generational Family Session at Jefferson Patterson Park

Meet the Stevens family! I first met Christine through the Calvert County Chamber of Commerce. She’s a sleep consultant (shameless plug to her website here!) and an all-around awesome human. Sleep is her passion and she’s built a business around helping others, which is something I can totally relate to! What an honor to create her family portraits!

Not only did we photograph Christine’s family, but Mark’s parents also happened to be in town and joined in on the session! I absolutely love it when grandparents attend a portrait session. Sydney loves her grandparents so much, and it’s clear that she’s the center of her grandfather’s world. How sweet are these two?!

Sydney was sound asleep when the session first started, but she perked right up with some dandelions and dancing. It’s so important to give kids some space while photographing them. We didn’t rush Sydney, letting her ease into things on her own time, and now we have authentic smiles to show for it!

Christine, thank you so much for trusting me to create these! Enjoy a few of my favorites!

Understanding the key difference that could make or break your portraits, the distinction between posing and art direction, is something many […]
