Amanda & Patrick | A Boho Garden Wedding

A Boho Garden Wedding at Jefferson Patterson Park

Outdoor garden weddings have my heart forever! Amanda and Patrick were married under large shade trees at Jefferson Patterson Park, and it was the picture of boho chic. Greenery and silver dollar eucalyptus adorned anything that stood still, and even some things that didn’t! The bridesmaids wore crowns of greenery in their hair, and the couple’s dog, Sophie, even made an appearance!

Amanda chose a color palette of greens, blues, and neutrals, which was right up my alley. My favorite detail was the delicate pearl necklace that belonged to Amanda’s great grandmother. It was the perfect “something old” and complemented the rest of her rose gold jewelry beautifully! Family is so important to these two, which was evident in all the special touches. The Mother of the Bride made the wedding cake herself, and Amanda’s grandfather walked her down the aisle.

My favorite moment was seeing Patrick’s reaction to Amanda. He was wiping away tears as she walked down the aisle, and she couldn’t help but grin at her almost-husband. Amanda’s cathedral length veil absolutely glowed in the golden afternoon light, making the ceremony truly look straight out of a fairytale.

Wedding days always seem to fly by, and this one was no exception! We ended up having just 15 minutes for couples portraits at sunset, but just wait until you see how much magic we made in that short amount of time. Huge shoutout to Patrick and wedding planner Rachelle for being my dress and veil fluffers while Leigh was photographing the reception! It takes teamwork to create beautiful portraits like these!

One of my favorite parts of the AWP wedding day experience is the same day slideshow! There’s usually nothing for us to photograph during dinner, but that doesn’t mean we’re not hard at work. We use the break to back up all the images, edit a handful of favorites, and display them on an iPad. I know when I was a bride myself, I didn’t want my first impression from my wedding to be grainy cell phone shots. Our couples get a glimpse of their professional photos while they’re still at the wedding! Such a fun treat for them and their loved ones!

Thanks so much for choosing me, Amanda & Patrick! I loved being one of your bonus bridesmaids. Have the best time in Williamsburg!
