The Hall Family | A Sotterley Plantation Portrait Session

Busy season is in full swing, and that means I have more beautiful family portraits to share with you! I met the Hall family on a blustery afternoon at Sotterley Plantation, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite locations in southern Maryland. The garden was still in full bloom, even in mid October!

Lauren and Jeremy are recently married, and they each brought a child to the family: Jeremy’s daughter Annabelle, and Lauren’s pup Monty! It’s pretty clear that Monty is the baby! New portraits were the perfect way to celebrate this chapter of their lives. Family truly is who you choose it to be, and these images perfectly capture how they feel about each other!

 The light was perfect for their session, but one struggle we encountered was the WIND! We were literally shooting between wind gusts and chasing runaway hats through the garden. It was so much fun! My favorite location was this little white archway tucked away on the property. The session was wrapping up, but we noticed this arch and knew we had to shoot there! It took some tricky maneuvering to keep them in good light, but it was 100% worth it!!!
