An Engagement Session at Lower Notley Hall Farm

Sidney & Austin

Like a true Enneagram type 3, I am a HUGE fan of goal setting and tracking. A few weeks ago I wrote down a new 2021 goal for AWP: I wanted to photograph the wedding of a past couple’s bridal party member. In other words, I wanted to love and serve my couples’ friends and family so well on a wedding day, that those loved ones chose me once it was their turn.

Literally THE DAY AFTER I wrote down this goal, Sidney sends me once of the best inquiry emails I’ve ever received. She’d been a bridesmaid at a recent wedding of mine, and she was meant to be an AWP bride too!

I finally got to meet Sidney and her fiancé Austin for their engagement session a few weeks ago, and I am SO GLAD that they are mine! These two are kind, playful, and so fun to be around. It was non-stop laughter the entire time we were together!

We met at their wedding venue, Lower Notley Hall Farm, on a crisp, overcast fall day. I’d never been to the property before, so we explored and found so many perfect portrait locations! Not that these two needed ANY help feeling comfortable in front of the camera. Sidney and Austin have such a naturally playful, easygoing chemistry, it made photographing them together a dream!

Please enjoy (way too many) favorites from their engagement session! Congrats, you two. I’m already counting down to next September!

Engagement sessions are meant to be romantic, intimate, and centered on the quiet connection between two people in love. For Zack and Kara, their sailboat engagement session in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor was the epitome of romantic engagement. There is something about being out on the water with sunlight dancing across the water’s surface and the […]

I’ve honestly lost track of how many times I’ve photographed this family now, and each time truly gets better and better! Sticking with one photographer over the years is one of the best things a family can do, because it allows everyone to feel more comfortable and genuinely enjoy the session. One thing is certain, […]

When you have clients that love and appreciate art as much as Isabella and Jory, you find a way to showcase that love in photos. For them, that meant a National Gallery of Art engagement session. It turned out more perfect than I could have imagined. Including personal items or highlighting shared interests is something […]
