Carlee & David

What can I say about Carlee and David?! I love everything about these two humans. They are such a JOY to be around and were the perfect couple to end my 2020 wedding season with! Throughout the entire planning process, with everything life and COVID threw at them, as plans changed and guest lists shrank, Carlee and David never ever lost their joy.

Some elements of their plans did change due to COVID, but the date never did! Carlee and David had been engaged for nearly two years, and more than anything else, they were ready to be married. Thankfully Mother Nature cooperated and gave them a STUNNING fall day at the Barn at Pleasant Acres. There was just a slight chill in the air and just enough leaves clinging to trees to give us epic portraits!

The Barn’s tagline is “where you’re cared for by family” and that is exactly how it feels to work there. I’m so grateful to have such a beautiful wedding venue literally ten minutes from my house! While it’s always fun to work in new places, there’s something comforting about building relationships and feeling really confident in a space.

Carlee and David chose an autumnal color palette of navy, blush pinks, and a deep burgundy. They opted not to have a wedding party, which meant we had even more time for bride and groom portraits! There were little personal touches hidden throughout the details as well. Carlee’s mom made Carlee’s earrings, and her necklace was made from her late father’s wedding ring.

The ceremony was live streamed, with dozens of additional loved ones cheering them on from afar. Carlee’s brother walked her down the aisle, and she shared an incredibly emotional dance with her mama! After the special dances were complete, we headed to the Lighthouse in Solomons, MD to continue the celebration.

What I’ll always remember about Carlee and David is how I felt like I was part of their family! Can’t wait to work with this crew again next year at Emma and Nick’s wedding. Nick is David’s stepbrother, so that will be another big family milestone I’ll get to be a part of!

Carlee and David, thank you for trusting me to document this incredible day for you! I’m truly the luckiest girl in the world.
