A Whimsical Spring Wedding at Woodlawn Farm

Lindsay & Kyler

The joy was as palpable as the heat when I arrived at Woodlawn Farm for Lindsay and Kyler’s wedding day. We were in for a WARM day in southern Maryland, but it was beautiful from start to finish! Every single detail was carefully selected to reflect who Lindsay and Kyler are: kind, caring humans, with a flair for the colorful, whimsical, and untamed. I knew I was going to love their wedding day, but what awaited me still took my breath away!

Lindsay described her wedding vision as “southern Maryland in the springtime”, with every color of the rainbow making an appearance. And honestly, these two nailed it! From the ombre mismatched bridesmaid dresses to stunning wildflower florals, each detail felt like it was meant for them. I especially loved the colorful paper crane place cards, which Kyler folded by hand!

The Fibonacci spiral arch at their ceremony site had to be one of the most unique wedding details I’ve ever seen. Lindsay’s cousin made it by hand for the couple because Kyler loves math, but I loved it too for the homage to art and design. Fibonacci spirals are found in everything around us – from sunflowers to the entire galaxy – and they go on forever, so what better inspiration could there be for a wedding?

As lovely as the details were, it was all the little moments throughout the day that truly stole my heart. Everyone in attendance was so wonderful and truly happy for the couple, it made my job so easy! Lindsay and two of the groomsmen surprised Kyler with a hilarious fake first look, but then the real first look and private vow exchange had us all in tears of joy. Just when we thought things couldn’t get any better, the couple’s puppy, Talvi, arrived and stole the show!

I honestly can’t say enough wonderful things about Lindsay and Kyler. Working with these two has been such a blast, and I’m a little sad that their wedding day is over! However, the good news is we have TONS of beautiful images to help us relive the day – enjoy my favorites below!

Congratulations, you two. Have the best time in Charleston!

Congratulations to Lindsay and Kyler! They’re welcoming a baby girl, Florence, this month. I can’t wait to meet her in just a few weeks.
