Hannah & Casey
After two years of planning thanks to COVID, Hannah and Casey finally got their dream wedding in Mexico! I’m so excited to officially be able to call myself an international wedding photographer, and even more excited about the AMAZING week these two just had. We’ve been in each other’s lives for over two years now, so I definitely felt more like another friend there to celebrate with them!
They chose the Dreams Playa Mujeres resort, and immediately upon entering, it’s obvious why! The grounds were breathtakingly beautiful, with lush florals and blooms even in the heat of summer. So many great portrait locations tucked throughout the property! About 40 of their friends and family joined them in Mexico, and it truly did feel like one big family celebrating together.
The day of the wedding was HOT, even by Mexico’s standards. We photographed portraits in quick 2-minute spurts, running back into shade whenever we could. The end result was WORTH IT! I’m so glad we made some extra time for portraits before the ceremony, because the resort is absolutely stunning!
Thankfully, the heat broke just in time for their ceremony on the beach. Hannah and Casey were actually legally married in a small backyard ceremony last summer, and yet there was still so much emotion and excitement as Hannah walked down the aisle in Mexico. After the ceremony, we lingered on the beach for a few more photos with guests, and of course, sunset portraits! These are some of my favorites from the entire day!
As the reception began, Hannah and Casey had one more surprise up their sleeve for their guests. The dance floor was filled with thousands of twinkling lights, and halfway through their first dance, a brief display of cold fireworks went off! Truly one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen during a reception! I have to give tons of props to the resort’s wedding team. The DJ was an incredible emcee, and kept the dance floor packed all night long!
Hannah and Casey, THANK YOU for taking me along with you to Mexico! I’m so honored to have documented so many of your biggest milestones for these past two years. Enjoy a few of my favorites!
