A Family Portrait Session on Solomons Island, Maryland

The Hendersons

I’m so excited to finally share this family portrait session with you! I met the Henderson crew on a beautiful June Sunday afternoon after getting rained out a few times. Luckily, we were gifted with PERFECT weather so I’d say it was worth the wait!

Their little boy, Jax, was just about six months old, which is my favorite age for baby portraits. Just look at that happy, gummy smile! We timed the session with his nap schedule and the results speak for themselves! Jax was totally happy the entire session, and made my job so easy.

These three are only in the Maryland area for a few years for work, so they wanted portraits that also felt like classic southern Maryland to remember the area by. Naturally, Solomons Island was the obvious choice! We had to call an audible and choose a different location in order to feature the Thomas Johnson bridge, but fortunately, I know all the best locations and these three totally trusted me! It paid off – those bridge portraits are some of my absolute favorites!

Enjoy more of my favorites below – can’t wait to see the Henderson family again soon for Jax’s first birthday!

Understanding the key difference that could make or break your portraits, the distinction between posing and art direction, is something many […]
