Jacque and Zack are going to be parents! Over the last few years, I’ve kept in touch with them since I photographed their engagement session in 2020. I was thrilled when they hired me for their Rawlings Conservatory maternity portraits and newborn session! It’s so special to watch my couples build their families, and to be a part of documenting that incredible journey. Jacque is a quintessential plant lover, so I immediately knew the perfect location for their maternity session: Rawlings Conservatory in Baltimore, MD. This spot was perfect for these expecting parents and I can’t wait for you to see every beautiful moment of their Rawlings Conservatory maternity portraits.

Rawlings Conservatory Maternity Portraits

Rawlings Conservatory has been on my bucket list for years, and Jacque and Zack were the perfect clients to finally cross it off with. Rawlings Conservatory features stunning architecture inside and out, as well as several indoor greenhouse rooms to explore. There’s so many incredible spots to create unique and beautiful imagery. I loved playing in all of the gorgeous green plants. While we focused mostly inside, the main building at Rawlings Conservatory is simply stunning! I couldn’t pass up a chance to photograph Jacque and Zack outside this beautiful spot.

I think there’s something meaningful about capturing a woman growing a baby in a space dedicated to growth! Just me? Anyway, I’m so happy that Jacque and Zack were willing to meet me here for their maternity portraits! It was a beautiful day!

What to Wear for Maternity Photos

Jacque chose a gorgeous blue and white floral dress for her maternity portraits. It was perfect for this venue – and for her! She looked beautiful and the flow of the dress made for some gorgeous movement in the maternity portraits. With the blue and white pattern, the dress popped against the green around us in the conservatory. When choosing what to wear for your maternity portraits, think of what is comfortable and makes you feel good! You want to be able to show off your beautiful baby bump and feel confident while doing so. I always love dresses because of the movement they provide in photos – plus they’re a great way to avoid tight clothing when you’re expecting.

For their Rawlings Conservatory maternity portraits, Jacque and Zack even brought a cute little knit sweater for Baby Wesley. I loved being able to include this special touch in their maternity portraits! Whether it’s pair of shoes, a special stuffed animal, or a sweet little nod to your baby’s name, I’m always happy to include something that will make your portraits more special to you!

Maternity portraits are a fantastic way to commemorate a special, fleeting time in an expectant mom’s life. Although it doesn’t always feel like it, 9 months can go by quickly. It’s always such a privilege to preserve this season for my clients so they can always remember how beautiful they are. Not to mention, what an incredible journey they are on with their partner into parenthood. Newborn portraits really focus on your baby, so taking a moment to celebrate who you are as a mother (or father) is important.

I’m so happy that Jacque and Zack reached out to me to capture this special time in their lives. I can’t wait for your little boy to arrive!  You two are going to be the best parents, I just know it! Congratulations!!
