A Fall Wedding at Herrington on the Bay

fall wedding at Herrington on the Bay in Maryland

As a wedding photographer, I always feel incredibly lucky when I get to return to one of my favorite local venues, Herrington on the Bay. This was my third wedding at this stunning Maryland location this year, and once again, it did not disappoint. Caroline and Ryan’s fall wedding at Herrington on the Bay was an absolute dream, filled with special moments and touches, and plenty of laughter.

Ceremony for Fall Wedding at Herrington on the Bay

Caroline’s family is from Poland, and they made sure to incorporate meaningful traditions into the ceremony. One of the highlights was the Polish blessing given by Caroline’s father. It was a beautiful, heartfelt moment that not only honored her heritage but also added a unique, personal touch to their day.

What made this moment even more special was a thoughtful gesture by Ryan. As the maid of honor shared in her speech, Ryan had taken it upon himself to learn Polish when he and Caroline first started dating. He wanted to connect with her family in a deeper way, and that kind of effort truly speaks to the love and commitment these two share. How sweet is that?

A Perfect Autumn Color Palette for Maryland Wedding

The timing of Caroline and Ryan’s wedding was perfect, as the rich hues of fall were in full swing. They chose a warm brown color palette, accented by blush pink and neutral florals. The color scheme blended seamlessly with the changing leaves and fall backdrop at Herrington on the Bay, making everything feel both cozy and romantic. It was the perfect reflection of the season and the couple’s aesthetic. I personally love the pastel accents for the fall wedding day – it’s not as common as you think, but I think it worked so beautifully!

Joyful Fall Wedding Reception at Herrington on the Bay

Every wedding I’ve had the pleasure of photographing has had its own memorable moments, but Ryan and his mom’s dance was something truly unique. They stunned the guests with a highly animated and perfectly choreographed routine that had everyone in awe. Not only was it beautifully executed, but it also brought an incredible energy to the reception. The dance floor was immediately packed, and the vibe for the night was set! It was one of those moments that had everyone talking—and smiling—well after the song ended. Caroline and Ryan were on the floor celebrating with everyone all night long, too. I love when my couples are able to spend time with their guests and really party!

From the touching Polish traditions to the stunning color palette and unforgettable dance, Caroline and Ryan’s wedding was a perfect reflection of their personalities and love for each other. It was such an honor to be a part of their day, capturing all the special moments in such a gorgeous setting. Herrington on the Bay will always be one of my favorite venues, and I can’t wait to see what beautiful memories future couples create there!

Congratulations, Caroline and Ryan! I wish you both many years of happiness and love together!
