Welcome to the Venue Spotlight series! In this series, I’ll highlight one of my favorite wedding venues in the Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia area. It’s my hope that these posts help engaged couples understand all of the incredible venue choices right here in our backyard, and that they’re better able to envision what their own wedding day might look like! This month, we’re featuring Herrington on the Bay in North Beach, Maryland.

About Herrington on the Bay

Want to feel like you’ve been whisked off to a destination wedding in the Caribbean, without having to pull out your passport? If that’s you, then Herrington is the perfect wedding venue for you. Herrington on the Bay has been a pillar of the Maryland coastal community for over 25 years. Featuring expansive waterfront views of the Chesapeake Bay, lush landscaping, top notch catering, and luxury on site accommodations, Herrington on the Bay truly provides a dream wedding experience to their clients.

Venue Details

One differential aspect of Herrington is that they actually offer two separate, unique venues on one property: the Herring Bay Garden and Yacht Club, and the Polynesian Lawn and Paradise Ballroom. This means that there can (and likely will) be two wedding events going on at the same time. However, the spaces are completely separate from each other, have clear signage, and are located on opposing sides of the property, so it’s not at all an issue for couples or their guests.

The two ceremony spaces are nearly identical, featuring water views, tropical landscaping, and a stunning wooden arbor. The Yacht Club is an indoor reception space, and the Paradise Ballroom is a tented outdoor reception space. Both are gorgeous, neutral event spaces that will act as the perfect blank canvas for any wedding vision, capable of hosting up to 350 guests.

Why We Love It

Without a doubt, my favorite thing about Herrington on the Bay is the people! Their team is truly one of a kind in the way they care for their clients from start to finish. I always go into Herrington weddings knowing it’ll be a flawless and smooth experience, no matter what comes our way.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how incredible the onsite catering is, too. Food is one of the most important parts of the guest experience, and Herrington absolutely delivers in this category. I always look forward to dinner service at Herrington, because I know it’s going to be an amazing meal with a view that can’t be beat!
