How adorable is Baby Wyatt? We captured a darling studio milestone session in Southern Maryland at Costola Studio with his family! Wyatt is enrolled in the AWP Membership Program, where families receive four full sessions during a baby’s first year. It was so lovely to see him for this session – right before his cleft palate corrective surgery. I know his family is pleased to have his first smile documented for many years to come. Wyatt, you are the sweetest little boy and I cannot wait to continue working with you as you turn one! Your studio milestone session in Southern Maryland was a joy to photograph!

Milestone Session in Southern Maryland

Located in La Plata Maryland, the Costola Studio is a perfect option for a light and airy feeling studio session. It has so much gorgeous natural light and the space is decorated in neutral tones, which makes it a fantastic option for sessions of all styles. Throw in a climate controlled environment, and you’ve got the ideal space for milestone sessions with little ones and their families. The more variables we can control, the better! It really allows me to focus on the interactions and personalities that are unique to each family during our session. 

Wyatt’s family leaned into a gorgeous color palette with light frosted blue and white. It worked perfectly in the neutral setup at Costola Studio and really focused in our attention on them and Baby Wyatt. I love that they didn’t match – but instead, coordinated, creating final images that feel timeless. They also brought a fun onesie for Wyatt to celebrate his cleft palette and it was fun to capture some more playful images of him during his studio milestone session in Southern Maryland.

Family Portraits in La Plata Maryland

Wyatt’s whole family came along for his milestone portraits! They all enjoyed snuggling up together, and showing off Wyatt and his adorable smile. Big brother Emmett loved interacting with Wyatt and “helping” me with the session! For family sessions with young kids, I love to bring my Fuji point and shoot camera to help older siblings feel involved with the session. It’s such a fun little way for them to be included – and I love watching them light up as they play photographer, too!
