Jaclyn & Billy | A Baltimore Engagement Session in Fells Point

I’m so thrilled to be sharing Jaclyn and Billy’s Baltimore engagement session! Jaclyn is my cousin, and I was thrilled when she asked me to photograph her and Billy’s wedding later this summer. Every wedding day is special, but it feels really wonderful to be the one capturing my family’s beautiful moments. I enjoyed spending a cozy winter afternoon with Jaclyn and Billy in Fells Point for their Baltimore engagement session – even if it was chilly!

Baltimore Engagement Session at Fells Point

We met for their session in downtown Baltimore near Fells Point, where they had their first date. I love when my couples incorporate somewhere special for their portraits. Whether it’s the spot from their first date, their favorite date night now, or where they’re getting married. Jaclyn and Billy live in Baltimore now, so it was the perfect location for their engagement session!

Fells Point is an adorable neighborhood with lots of charm and always photographs beautifully. We enjoyed finding cute front doors (I LOVE the blue one we found!) and various shop fronts decorated for the season. Jaclyn and Billy cuddled up along the waterfront as we ended our session. I always enjoy this view of the city! It’s so dreamy, even in the winter and the perfect spot to wind down a Baltimore engagement session.

Winter Engagement Session Tips

It was a freezing cold winter day when we met for their session, but the good thing is, it meant we had a popular urban location all to ourselves! Winter engagement sessions aren’t for everyone, but they are a great option for cozy vibes. If you’re thinking about planning a winter engagement session, my number one tip is to dress warmly! Layers look great on camera and will keep you comfortable. Jaclyn and Billy looked amazing in their winter outfits, topped with their coats and hats. The other big tip is to be mindful of the time of day for your session. Early afternoon usually works well in winter since the sun sets early. And don’t stress about the cold; a little movement, laughter, and maybe a warm drink afterward can make it a fun, memorable experience.

I loved getting to spend time with Jacyln and Billy! Thank you for trusting me to capture your sweet Baltimore engagement session. I can’t wait to document your wedding at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club in August! I know it’s going to be beautiful!!

How adorable is Baby Wyatt? We captured a darling studio milestone session in Southern Maryland at Costola Studio with his family! Wyatt is enrolled in the AWP Membership Program, where families receive four full sessions during a baby’s first year. It was so lovely to see him for this session – right before his cleft […]

Congratulations to Lindsay and Kyler! They’re welcoming a baby girl, Florence, this month. I can’t wait to meet her in just a few weeks. To celebrate her upcoming arrival, Lindsay and Kyler planned a maternity session at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC. I photographed Lindsay and Kyler’s wedding back in 2021, so it […]
