Jaclyn & Billy | A Chesapeake Bay Beach Club Wedding

Some wedding days are extra special and this one is near the top of the list. Jaclyn isn’t just one of my beautiful brides… she’s also my cousin. Being part of her and Billy’s Chesapeake Bay Beach Club wedding in Kent Island, Maryland, was both an honor and a joy. This was a rare and wonderful day where I got to wear two hats: photographer and guest. I’m so thankful for my amazing team who stepped in seamlessly once the dance floor opened up, allowing me to celebrate with our family and soak in every moment. And to Jaclyn and Billy,  thank you for trusting me with such a meaningful role in your wedding day.

A Waterfront Wedding on Maryland’s Eastern Shore

Located just across the Bay Bridge, the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club is one of my favorite wedding venues in Maryland. It offers the best of both worlds:  a breathtaking waterfront ceremony site overlooking the Chesapeake Bay and an elegant, light-filled indoor reception space that transitions beautifully from day to night.

Jaclyn and Billy’s wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect. In the middle of August,  when Maryland weather usually brings heat and humidity,  we were gifted with surprisingly pleasant temperatures and a cool breeze. The couple exchanged vows in the club’s garden ceremony space, framed by lush greenery and panoramic bay views. They were surrounded by their loved ones, the most beautiful white floral arrangements, and perfect views in every direction. The ceremony was heartfelt, joyful, and full of emotion… and I’m only a little biased that it was pretty perfect since it was my family!

Classic Waterfront Wedding in Maryland

Jaclyn chose a soft and natural color palette of greens, neutrals, and dusty blues, which paired perfectly with the surroundings and added an airy, organic feel to the day. Every detail,  from the florals to the tablescapes, reflected their easygoing elegance as a couple (again, maybe I’m biased but it was a dream day!).One of my favorite moments? Their champagne tower pour to kick off cocktail hour. It was such a fun and festive way to celebrate! The energy carried into the reception with heartfelt toasts, non-stop dancing, and so many happy tears.

Getting to photograph Jaclyn and Billy’s wedding was something I’ll never forget. It’s always special to document a wedding, but when it’s someone you love,  it takes on an entirely new meaning. I’m incredibly proud of these two, and I can’t wait to see where life takes them.

There’s something undeniably captivating about the waterfront. Maryland’s waterfront venues, whether tucked along the Chesapeake Bay, lining the Eastern Shore, or framed by historic piers, have a way of making portraits feel expansive without ever feeling empty. The light shimmers across the water, the horizon stretches open, and every angle offers a new composition. Portraits […]
