A Romantic Engagement Session at Tudor Place | Emily & Patrick

Have you ever had a vision for something for YEARS, and then someone comes along and helps you make it a reality? That’s exactly how I’d describe Emily and Patrick’s engagement session! Tudor Place has been been on my bucket list literally for years now. I first came across it on another photographer’s blog, and instantly fell in love!

Nestled in the heart of Georgetown, this historic property features a beautiful portico and meticulously manicured gardens filled with roses and fruit trees. It’s one of favorite DC engagement session locations, without a doubt!

While the location is stunning on its own, it was also the perfect fit for Emily and Patrick. They love to spend their free time exploring DC and snuggling with their kitty, Bisous. That’s French for “kiss”, which I now know thanks to the DuoLingo app! I knew these two were my people when Patrick pulled out a pair of custom socks with Bisous’s face on them and asked if we could work them into the session somehow. Ummm, YES! And just wait until you see Emily’s gorgeous engagement ring. These are hands down some of my favorite ring shots ever!

We had the venue all to ourselves, which is always a great environment for portraits. I loved getting to know these two! They’re in the early stages of wedding planning, and I can’t wait to see how their plans come together. If their engagement portraits are any indication, I know it’s going to be a gorgeous celebration!

Congratulations, Emily and Patrick! Enjoy a few of my favorites from their Tudor Place engagement session!

Engagement sessions are meant to be romantic, intimate, and centered on the quiet connection between two people in love. For Zack and Kara, their sailboat engagement session in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor was the epitome of romantic engagement. There is something about being out on the water with sunlight dancing across the water’s surface and the […]

I’ve honestly lost track of how many times I’ve photographed this family now, and each time truly gets better and better! Sticking with one photographer over the years is one of the best things a family can do, because it allows everyone to feel more comfortable and genuinely enjoy the session. One thing is certain, […]

When you have clients that love and appreciate art as much as Isabella and Jory, you find a way to showcase that love in photos. For them, that meant a National Gallery of Art engagement session. It turned out more perfect than I could have imagined. Including personal items or highlighting shared interests is something […]
