A Southern Maryland Engagement Session | Matt & Madeleine

So excited to finally share these portraits! Madeleine and Matt booked me for their wedding almost two years ago, so some time for us to hang out and get used to the camera was long overdue. It actually worked out perfectly, because they’ve had to change their wedding plans due to COVID – so we met at their new ceremony site! These two are now getting married at Madeleine’s grandmother’s house in St. Mary’s City, so we stopped by for a quick site tour and engagement session!

I was instantly in love as soon as I pulled in the driveway! The home has a beautiful garden in the front, and sweeping waterfront views in the backyard. It was hot the day we met for their engagement session, but I have a feeling it’ll be perfect in October!

Honestly, I think this plan is even better than the original! This location is so special to Madeleine’s family, as the home has been in their family for several decades now. If there’s one silver lining to COVID’s impact on weddings, it’s the creative and unique ways couples are adapting and personalizing their plans!

Madeleine and Matt were pros, but their pup, Milo, totally stole the show! Check out a few of my favorites below. Congrats, you two! Cannot wait for 10/10/2020!

The light shimmers across the water, the horizon stretches open, and every angle offers a new composition. Portraits […]

Understanding the key difference that could make or break your portraits, the distinction between posing and art direction, is something many […]
