A Southern Maryland Maternity Session

The Mulvin Family

If I could give families one piece of advice, it’d be to find a photographer you LOVE and stick with them forever! I think Chelsea and Aaron would back me up on this, because we’ve worked together … FIVE times now and every time just gets better and better! First for Brooks’ maternity and newborn portraits, then their engagement and wedding, and now to celebrate baby #2’s impending arrival!

We met at Jefferson Patterson Park for Bryar’s maternity session and, true to form for them, it was just perfect. Toddlers call the shots during family sessions, but Brooks was totally happy to snuggle up with his parents and be a total ham for the camera!

Also, can we talk about Chelsea’s dress?! I had to ask her where it was from (Pinkblush) because it’s absolutely perfect. Long, flowy gowns are the absolute best choice for mamas at family portrait sessions and I’m obsessed with the color. It was stunning on the beach!

I can’t believe Brooks will be a big brother any day now. Brooks and Bryar will have just about the same age gap as my girls, so I’m so excited to be along for the ride as they become a family of four! Congrats to all, can’t wait to meet Bryar for her newborn portraits SOON!

The light shimmers across the water, the horizon stretches open, and every angle offers a new composition. Portraits […]

Many photographers talk about posing guides: where to place hands, how to stand, how to angle the body. And while posing is important, it’s not the only thing that makes a portrait feel alive. Understanding the key difference that could make or break your portraits, the distinction between posing and art direction, is something many […]
