A summer wedding on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay: what could be better? Coastal and vintage elements blended perfectly at Leah and Derrick’s wedding at Herrington on the Bay in North Beach, Maryland. Fluffy white clouds wafted through the sky and though it was warm, that’s to be expected for July!

Herrington on the Bay is one of my absolute favorite venues, so I was thrilled when these two chose me as their photographer! The entire Herrington team is so welcoming and fun to work with, not to mention they take incredible care of their clients. Of course the property is absolutely gorgeous as well. A tropical wedding paradise right here in Maryland, no passport required!

Leah and Derrick chose a color palette of soft blues and pinks, accented with gold and neutral tones. The cake display was my favorite detail! My jaw dropped when I saw the work of art that Leah’s aunt had created for the couple. Just wait until you see it!

Throughout the planning process, the couple expressed that their biggest wedding day priority was spending as much time as possible with their guests. This was music to my ears! The wedding day flies by, so it’s my goal to keep portraits as fast and efficient as possible – meaning my couples have more time to savor with their loved ones. Leah and Derrick shared a private first look and vow exchange before the ceremony, and we also completed all formal portraits before a single guest arrived. I’m so glad these two got to actually enjoy their cocktail hour!
