Newborn

Peddicord Maternity | Amanda Wose Photography

There’s something truly magical about pregnancy. The anticipation, the overflowing love, the dream of what lies ahead is often palpable among parents-to-be. My time with Katie, a friend from college, and her husband Kyle was all of that and more.

Kyle couldn’t stop smiling if he tried, and Katie positively glowed with happiness. I don’t think we stopped laughing for an hour straight, which is every photographer’s dream! We met in downtown Annapolis on a chilly Saturday afternoon, where the US Naval Academy campus made for some amazing photos.

 Could this be any sweeter?!

Katie and Kyle’s baby girl, Avery, is due to arrive in April. I’ll be taking Avery’s newborn portraits as well when she arrives, so we chatted about the colors of her nursery, special props we want to use, and ways to prepare their home for the session once she arrives.

I’m so thankful we were able to get together prior to the newborn session. This gave us the chance not only to capture some amazing images, but it also allowed Kyle and I to get to know one another. Parents place the utmost trust in their newborn photographer, and I believe it’s crucial to have developed a relationship prior to the birth.

See you soon, Katie and Kyle! Avery will be here before you know it.
