It’s been three days since Rebecca and Anthony’s wedding, and I’m still getting teary eyed thinking about it! Every little thing about their day was just so raw, real, and refreshingly authentic. These two met in the unlikeliest of places: while working as marine observers on fishing boats in the Bering Sea! Their wedding was filled with little nods to how they met, but the most stunning detail was the love they share with their friends and family.
Rebecca’s parents own a beautiful waterfront property in Port Tobacco, which served as the perfect location for the wedding. Moments before the ceremony, Rebecca and her dad, Steve, met for a first look in the living room of her childhood home. The walls were filled with portraits and family memories. I watched as Steve observed each one, waiting for Rebecca to call for him to turn around. When she finally did, he dropped to his knees, overcome with emotion. His little girl had become a bride right before his eyes, and it was time to give her away.
Fortunately, there could not be a more perfect man for the job! Anthony is kind, steadfast, and completely adores Rebecca. He even promised her unlimited foot rubs in the vows he wrote to his bride! No taking that one back, buddy! The sunlight glowed through the trees as Rebecca and Anthony promised forever to each other, surrounded by the ones they love most.
The beautiful weather held out just long enough for their ceremony, with clouds soon rolling in and storms threatening. These two are pretty hardened to poor weather (perhaps from all that time on the boat?!), so a little dark clouds and light rain didn’t stop us from getting some gorgeous bride & groom portraits just before sunset!
The reception was a non-stop party. I don’t think the dance floor ever emptied! We had so much fun jumping into the action and capturing some fantastic dance floor candids. As the evening drew to a close, Rebecca’s parents surprised everyone with a fireworks display! Guests gathered outside the tent to take in the show, and we got one last portrait before saying our goodbyes.
Congratulations, #rebanthony! It was such an honor to document the day for you!
