What a year, guys. I learned so much about myself, how I want to serve my clients, and what really matters most. I went down to part time at work to have more time to dedicate to my family and the studio. I found my voice and my passion. I said yes to projects that made my soul happy and learned to say no to things that didn’t. I blew through my financial goals, and made some big, scary, exciting ones for 2019. This was undoubtedly a year of transformation.
As I look back on 2018, so many moments stand out. I can’t help but feel immense gratitude. My assistant Leigh and I became dear friends, and I owe so much of AWP’s success to her. I had the honor of photographing a surprise proposal, military reunions, and pregnancy announcements. I brought together seven women who were strangers to one another and to me, united by their rainbow babies. I had the privilege of photographing babies just hours after their births, as well as my own sister’s wedding, just days before our grandmother passed away.
51 newborns. 6 weddings. 46 portrait sessions. Countless humans in front of my camera, trusting me to document their lives beautifully. Sometimes late at night, I’ll look at Adam and say that I can’t believe this is really happening. That so many amazing, wonderful people choose ME to tell their story. I am so thankful to have this gift and this voice to share with the world, and with my own family.
I can say without a doubt that I’m happier and more fulfilled than I have ever been. Thank you for being along for the journey. Here’s to AMAZING things to come in 2019!
