Megan & Frankie | A Romantic Sunset Engagement Session

Megan & Frankie

You know how great it is when you’re with people that keep you laughing and smiling, even when things don’t go as planned? That’s exactly how we feel with Megan and Frankie! These two are so laid back and full of joy. Their engagement session was full of laughter, even though it didn’t exactly start as Megan had hoped! We met at Jefferson Patterson Park Saturday evening for their session. The light and the weather was absolutely perfect, and the park bustled with activity.

But as soon as they got out of the car, Megan realized she’d forgotten her second outfit!!! She’d been so excited for their session and so preoccupied getting themselves ready, that she left her gorgeous sage green dress at home, 30 miles away. Who else can relate to that?! She made a 911 call to her sister and matron of honor, Wendy, who dropped everything to bring the dress to us. (You might remember Wendy from baby Bentley’s newborn session, by the way!) That act of kindness says so much about the incredible bond these sisters share!

We explored the park for the first half of the session, and dress #2 arrived just in time to finish out the evening! Fate totally stepped in for Megan and Frankie. The extra time meant that I was able to shoot a whole roll of film, and we were able to catch the sunset! The whole sky turned cotton candy pink as these two popped champagne and celebrated their engagement. Megan loves sunsets, and I’d say she certainly got a good one Saturday night!

Megan and Frankie are so good to each other and total naturals in front of the camera. We tell clients to expect to feel awkward for the first 20 minutes, but I think it was more like 20 seconds for these two! They’re pros at posing, and Frankie’s got that nuzzle and the “thumb to earlobe” move down pat. This is going to make portrait time on their wedding day SO easy and fun!

I’m so thankful that they chose us to document their love story, and we cannot WAIT for their wedding next May! We’re over here on pins and needles waiting for the film scans to come back. Until then, enjoy getting to know Megan and Frankie through these images!
