A Family Portrait Session in Old Town Alexandria | Ashleigh & Brandon

Can you believe this session almost didn’t happen?! All week leading up to my session with the Triplett family, the forecast did not look promising. The rain came down that morning as we exchanged texts trying to decide what to do. When we noticed a tiny little break in the rain we decided to go for it – and I am so glad we did!

I met these three in Old Town Alexandria at my favorite little alley, and thanks to the cover of a few trees, the rain didn’t impact us at all. It actually rained the whole drive there and on the way home, but hardly at all during the actual session. We got so lucky with the weather!

Ashleigh and I have known each other for over a decade, having worked together for several years during and right after college. Her laugh is absolutely contagious and I was so happy to hear it again on Saturday! It’s been a crazy year for them with an adoption, work changes, and big cross-country moves, so baby Charlotte’s birthday was the perfect occasion for new family portraits.

After we wrapped up in the cobblestone alley, we headed down to Founder’s Park for Charlotte’s first birthday cake smash! She was a little hesitant about the cake at first, so mom and dad stepped in to show her what she was missing. Turns out she’s a big fan of icing!

Enjoy a few favorites from their session!
