A Summer Engagement Session on Solomons Island, Maryland

Julie & Zack

Going to the gym DOES pay off – that’s how I got reconnected with Julie! We both attended the same high school, and she and I attended the same fitness classes while she was back home in southern Maryland last summer. I was absolutely thrilled when she and Zack reached out to me about photographing their wedding!

The couple is currently living in New Jersey, but they’re planning a destination wedding at a vineyard in Southern California next spring. To say that I’m excited is an understatement! Julie and Zack love touring wineries together, so bringing a bottle from their wedding venue was the perfect touch for their engagement portraits.

Solomons Island was absolutely bustling with crowds the evening of their engagement session, but luckily I had plenty of little locations off the beaten path hidden up my sleeve. This willow tree made the perfect backdrop for some classic portraits, then we headed to a marina for more water views.

I especially loved their outfit choices! Elevated neutrals are the perfect choice in any location, and ending things with a more casual look is a great way to add variety to the final gallery.

Enjoy a few favorites below! Julie and Zack, thanks so much for trusting me. Can’t wait to celebrate again in California!
