A Classic Summer Wedding at Stone Tower Winery

Providence & Kyle

The date that has been marked on my calendar for well over a year finally arrived! Stone Tower Winery has been one of my bucket list venues for years, but I never could’ve imagined I’d also have the privilege of working with the kindest couple there as well. Several friends and family members on both sides used the same word to describe Provie and Kyle: focused. Honestly, this is a perfect descriptor! They are both driven, determined, kind, and care deeply about those around them and each other.

Soft, cotton-like clouds floated through the sky as I approached the winery. The temperature was perfect and there was no chance of rain – a rarity for Memorial Day Weekend in northern Virginia! I knew it’d be a beautiful day, but as always, it was the unexpected little moments that truly made it memorable.

Provie and her dad share a very close relationship, and she told me before their first look that she’d definitely get emotional once she saw him. Sure enough, not only were there tears on both sides, but her dad actually gifted the couple with new sunglasses to wear any time the emotions of the day got to be too much. Needless to say, the sunglasses made an appearance many times throughout the day!

The couple opted for a color palette of soft blues and neutrals which complemented the stonework and natural settings of the vineyard perfectly. Their ceremony was held indoors in Stone Tower Winery’s tank room, which was one of the most unique ceremony spaces I’ve seen yet!

Spending time with their guests was one of their highest priorities, so Provie and Kyle chose to have a first look and to complete all formal portraits before the ceremony so that they didn’t have to miss a moment of cocktail hour. I CANNOT recommend this highly enough to all of my couples! Your wedding day goes by in a flash, and I want you to have as much time with your loved ones as possible. Of course beautiful portraits are important too, but they don’t have to happen at the expense of enjoying your wedding day!

We did step away for just ten minutes of sunset portraits during dinner, and these turned out to be some of my favorites of the entire day. See the highlights from their entire wedding below! Provie and Kyle, THANK YOU for your trust in documenting this incredible day for you. Have the best time in Bora Bora!

I’ve honestly lost track of how many times I’ve photographed this family now, and each time truly gets better and better! Sticking with one photographer over the years is one of the best things a family can do, because it allows everyone to feel more comfortable and genuinely enjoy the session. One thing is certain, […]

When you have clients that love and appreciate art as much as Isabella and Jory, you find a way to showcase that love in photos. For them, that meant a National Gallery of Art engagement session. It turned out more perfect than I could have imagined. Including personal items or highlighting shared interests is something […]

When you think of wedding photography, your mind probably goes straight to the romantic wedding portraits, like the epic first kiss at the ceremony, or the newlywed’s first dance. While these wedding day moments are essential and some of my favorites to capture, there are other photos that are just as important but often overlooked […]
