I can’t believe that sweet Hadley is already a year old and we photographed her first birthday milestone portrait session in Washington DC now! I’ve photographed her parents, Ali and Tom, since their engagement and wedding day. Over the past year, as members of our Membership Program, Ali, Tom, and Hadley have seen me for their maternity, newborn, and a six-month milestone session for this sweet baby girl. It’s been beyond special to have a front row seat to Ali and Tom’s growing family – and Hadley’s first year of life. We captured her one year milestone portrait session in Washington DC this spring. 

Constitution Gardens Milestone Portrait Session

Originally, this session was supposed to take place at the Lincoln Memorial, but due to construction and a rally taking place, we had to shift to a new location on the fly. Fortunately I know all the best portrait locations around DC, so we were able to take a quick walk over to Constitution Gardens where we had the place to ourselves! Constitution Gardens offers beautiful views of DC, and we had the privacy to let Hadley explore the grounds a little bit. She was absolutely adorable, showing off her spring basket and cuddling up with her parents during her milestone portrait session in Washington DC! I personally love photographing families in the green weeping willow and around the beautiful ponds in the park. It’s a stunning site – and while the Lincoln Memorial would have been special (their maternity session was there!), I love the spring vibes of their portraits in the gardens, too!

First Birthday Milestone Portrait Session in Washington DC

Milestone portraits for one year olds are always a great time. They’ve really come into their personality and are oftentimes walking, which means we get some great photos of families playing and walking together. Hadley was also totally fine cuddling up with her parents, and loved when her dad played airplane with her. She loved teetering through the grass and finding the ducks on the pond, too. I can’t believe this big girl is already a year old! She has grown so much since I first met her and I feel honored to be the one who documented these special moments for her parents. Hadley has grown into such a sweet little girl and her milestone portrait session in Washington DC will document this special season of life forever for her parents.
